January 2025 / Volume 1 Issue 1

We know you’re busy, so rather than sending you a print newsletter, please take a look at our latest ‘Photo-Letter’ – a ‘snapshot’ of happening to keep you informed and up-to-date on your Trust.

Our Happy New Year Photo-Letter

The Trust wishes you a Happy and Healthy 2025.

The Holiday Watch Zone

The Trust’s headquarters – the Bruce House – served as a special Watch Zone for this year’s Three Village Rotary Holiday Parade. Our own Michael Rosengard was this year’s Grand Marshal!

The Stony Brook Train Station Beautification Project – Part I

Members of the Three Village community traveled back in time in December to visit an imaginative old-fashion pushcart of newspapers, candy and treats at the Stony Brook Train Station. The pushcart, and a host of other turn of the century items, were all part of a holiday art exhibit titled “Sweet Memories” created by the talented Michael Rosengard.

A great crowd showed up for the reception!

The Stony Brook Train Station Beautification Project – Part II

And there has been lots of recent work going to beautify the landscaped beds. Your donations are hard at work helping to remove debris, stumps, vines and litter. We are replanting of the Station’s landscaped beds with Long Island native perennials.

Dozens and dozens of baby plants have been installed. By this time next year – watch out!!

The work continues at the Immigrant Worker Factory House!

We continue to make great progress towards the restoration of the Immigrant Worker Factory Houses! The interior painting is in progress. We are closely duplicating the historical colors used inside the structures in the late 1800’s. Your membership dues and donations help make the restoration project possible. Thank you!

Our Annual Coat Drive

Wow! Thank you, thank you! We didn’t receive dozens of coats – we received hundreds of coats during our Fourth Annual Coat Drive. We filled several pickup trucks during the campaign!

The Three Village Historical Society’s House Marker Program

The Trust participated in the Three Village Historical Society’s House Marker Program. This initiative was based on the Society’s earlier program that recognized important historical structures in our area.

Above are plaques that will eventually be installed on the exterior of Trust buildings.
